katie ryan- founder
Katie Ryan is the founder of Achieve In Ed and has spent the last 18 years as a leader within the education and social impact sectors. In conjunction with her work at AIE, Katie is the Chief of Staff at Campaign Zero, a non-profit and data-driven organization dedicated to ending police violence in America. Prior to establishing AIE, Katie was a founding, turnaround Principal for a public school in Denver, Colorado. Previously ranked as one of the poorest performing schools in Colorado, under her leadership, the school advanced from Red to Green in just one year and was named a “Center for Excellence” by the Colorado Department of Education.
Katie has also served as a Site Manager for TNTP (The New Teacher Project), an Assistant Principal of Instruction, an Advisor and Curriculum Writer for Teach For America, and Social Studies department chair and teacher. She holds a B.A. in Gender Studies and Political Science from N.C. State University and an M.A. in Secondary Educaiton from New York University. When she is not supporting others knock down barriers, she is chasing after her three small children in beautiful Denver, Colorado or crafting something she found in the clearance aisle of Michael’s.
libby miller- partner
Libby Miller is an accomplished leader in education who has dedicated her career to ensuring that children and adults thrive. For nearly 18 years, Libby has driven results for schools and organizations, having served as the principal of STRIVE Prep - Federal in Denver, Colorado and as the founding principal of Achievement First Providence Mayoral Academy Middle School in Rhode Island. Under her leadership, all of Libby’s schools have achieved noteworthy academic outcomes and exceptional rates of staff satisfaction and retention. She is passionate about instructional leadership, organizational health and culture, and operations management. Libby earned her B.A. in sociology at Bowdoin College and holds an M.S.W. from Washington University in St. Louis.
Outside of professional life, Libby and her husband are raising their four children in Portland, Maine, where she also enjoys practicing yoga and seeing live music whenever she can.
